Review: The Tide- Pale Waves

31st January: a date celebrated by many as we had finally made it through that miserable month! If that wasn’t already a treat in itself, Pale Waves gave us yet another taste of their wonderful indie-pop sound as they released their latest track ‘The Tide’ on their debut EP: ‘All the Things I Never Said’. The track was aired on Beats1Radio with Zane Lowe and immediately after, released on Spotify.

As the first song that Heather Baron-Gracie and Ciara Doran of Pale Waves wrote together, ‘The Tide’ offers the warmth of a classic indie-pop song, one that doesn’t allow you to sit still whilst listening to! Though the sound is typical of a dream-pop anthem, it is also a classically “Pale Waves” song; many fans will be familiar with the light and somewhat 80’s synth-pop sound that runs in the rhythm of the guitars and bass.

The band actually never intended to release the song but after fans found a demo and showed a keen  and understandable love for it, they decided to add it to ‘All the Things I Never Said’ EP.

“We did update it a bit but it’s stayed true to what it was originally and we’ve fallen back in love with it again.” States the bands lead singer and guitarist Heather Baron-Gracie.

Pale Waves are heading out on their ‘Class of 2018’ tour on 19th February 2018 to which you can find tickets here: http://www.palewaves.co.uk/tour/
